REVIVAL

September 18, 19 and 20 we will be hosting Revival worship services at our church.  I am excited about what God is going to teach, challenge and ask us to do during this time.  One verse that always comes to mind during times like these is 2 Chronicles 7:14.  Read it and ask God what needs to happen in your life.  See you at Revival!!!!!

PHYSICAL HEALTH

As many of you know, I have been on a quest to be more physically fit and to get in shape.  Since mother's day weekend I have once again made the committment to change.  Now this is not the first time I have made this attempt.  My life has been a story of starts and stops when it comes to physical health.  I come at this attempt with much humility and much realization that I must stay the course or be right back where I began.

I have had some marginal success over the last few months and I am thankful for that.  I also have a long way to go.  This I know for sure, since I have made some changes in my life, I have more energy, more confidence, I feel better, my kids are more excited about exercise, I have glorified God with self control and discipline.  These benefits have been worth every morning of running, every self sacrifice of eating and every time I went to bed early and got up early.  Please consider what God is telling you in regards to your body.  It is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit!

Kari Jobe, 2009 Gateway Creat Publishing.

This CD I have fallen in love with.  You will recognize the song "Revelation Song" which we have done recently in our worship.  The writing and the music on this CD are worshipful and calming.  If your looking for some good music to buy, I would recommend this CD.   Kari Jobe is a worship leader at a large church in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.

Great Commission Plan

Last week I preached a sermon laying out a vision for our plan to be a church that reaches out and takes the great commission seriously.  Here is basic plan:

  • Evangelistic Preaching

  • Evangelistic Events

  • ACTS

  •  Identification

  • Prayer

  • Visitation

  • Persistent Contact

The last four which are highligted in orange are new focus areas for our church.  These are areas we will need people to serve in.  We will need coordinators for these areas who will work with the staff to make sure we are reaching out in an effective matter.  As we move forward continue to find your place in service.  Every person is an evangelist!  Every person is responsible to the Great Commission.  I think if we get serious we will be amazed at what God will do!

Stay tuned to find your place in the great task God has called us to!
